It is a good place to stay. The room was clean and the area around appeared safe. It is close to the BART station and I did not feel unsafe walking to the lodge late at night on MacArthur Blvd. It is an economical stay. Save the money and spend it on food and other experiences in the city.

I stay at this hotel because the staff is down to earth. Super nice and accommodating. I think they need a better maid or someone to teach her how to clean and make a bed. Everytime i stay here the bed is made sloppy disappointing and floor is always dirty. If She need a teacher i can help out and teach her

This review takes the price into consideration. I paid $100/night including taxes. Be sure to book directly with the hotel to get the best rate. The owners are super-nice, and that goes a long way. It's the perfect place to stay if you have a family member staying overnight at the hospital (free parking). The rooms are partially renovated - new TV's, some new furniture, new floors. I recommend requesting the top floor, as those rooms have newer bathrooms and newer heating/AC units. My only complaint is the water pressure of the newer showers is too light. One side note: I forgot my phone charger in the room, and they were able to find it and get it back to me. O don't think you will find a hotel this nice for this price anywhere in the Bay Area.

I stayed here many, many times from 2017-2018 (long story, but was living somewhere where I literally had to grab a backpack and anything I could carry, leave and go stay somewhere else whenever the fighting got physical or otherwise out of hand). The owners were so incredibly sweet to me and even brought me dinner one night when it was too late to get dinner anywhere and everything else was closed. The room(s) are affordable and basic, some nicer or more updated than others (I think I stayed in each and every one of them at least once!). It is in a safe area, and right near Kaiser and all the hospitals. It's for sure no nonsense no frills, but the owners made sure to put nice little touches like flowers, decorations, and even a BBQ grill, where they will be useful and appreciated. This place was a welcoming and safe respite for me for so many stays. I've since moved to another state, and I never got to tell the owners THANK YOU for their wonderful hospitality, so hopefully I can tell them with this review!

After a chat about service pet laws, I was able to stay after being denied 🐕‍🦺. The room was clean and I felt comfortable and safe.

This hotel is everything you can expect from a 30 year old delapitated building, but the owners have made every attempt to make it a beautiful and comfortable stay, the rooms are very clean, and the bedding Is of higher quality and comfortability then most chain hotels I have stayed at in my recent travels, also special delight, the shower is nothing short of a spa experience, im having a hard time getting ready y o check out without one last shower, I recommend this hotel highly because this owner has taken an experience that is very stereotypical of city hotels, an elevated it, with security protocols making me feel safe, and added little details y ou would not expect, so are quite delightful when made aware of them making a overwhelming impression, IE...having a very strong no smoking policy understandably, providing an area to do so if one chooses is very smart.

The cleanliness of the room
